With so many brides-to-be frequently asking me how to select their prewedding shoot locations, I decided to compile a list of favourite prewedding shoot locations in Singapore for you. This list features places of heritage, interests, and other locations that you’d find really familiar. Whether you love the beautiful of lush greenery as your backdrop, or the hustle and bustle of our little Singapore, to its gorgeously designed cityscape.
1. Singapore Botanic Gardens
With so many spots of hidden gems in this gorgeous garden, it’s no wonder the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) recently released a recommendation for the Singapore Botanic Gardens to be inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Featuring favourite locations like, Swan Lake, A Curtain of Roots, Halia Garden, Eco-Garden, Evolution Garden, National Orchid Garden, Burkill Hall, and of course the famous White Bandstand.
2. Upper Peirce Reservoir
If you’re a fan of rivers, lakes and oceans, Upper Peirce Reservoir will definitely make a wonderful prewedding photoshoot location. With vast water and beautiful forests as your background, get transported into another country. Try it with a morning sunrise setting to capture the mist over water.
Beach lovers, stroll along the fine sand as the gentle sea breeze caresses your faces. Hand in hand, along the water’s edge. Sentosa is an absolute must for you at sunset to capture the romance. Especially if you want to bring your dog along for the shoot.
4. Marina Bay Sands Skypark
Having your prewedding taken at the iconic Marina Bay Sands Skypark will make you feel on top of the world, at 200m high. The view from up high at Marina Bay Sands Skypark will also enable you to get some pretty spectacular photos.
5. One Degree 15 Marina Club
If you’ve always wanted to do a shoot on a yatch, or have yourselves surrounded by vessels, take a walk down the boardwalk of One Degree 15 Marina Club. Or even better yet, book a yatch and sail out to sea for a fantastic time.
6. Fort Canning
With the distinctive charm of rich heritage, Fort Canning Park drips with history for those history lovers, and its wide open spaces coupled with rustic structures have always been a popular choice for photoshoots.
7. National Museum of Singapore
If climate control and a relaxing environment is what you want for your photoshoot, there’s no better place than the National Museum of Singapore. A neo-classical iconic architecture, with simple modernism linking the old with the new. There are so many angles and areas which you can see this juxtaposition throughout the whole building.
8. Marina Barrage
Enjoy your prewedding photoshoot while watching the Singapore Flyer light up against the night sky. Built across the mouth of the Marina Channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore’s 15th reservoir, and the first in the heart of the city. It is the place to go to if you want a uniquely Singapore backdrop with the sun setting behind our lovely cityscape.
9. Marina Bay – Waterfront Promenade
Capture candid and natural moments while interacting, strolling in the mist, playing in the fountain or simply soaking in the panoramic view of the Bay from any spot on the promenade. The luxurious LV Flagship store makes for a fabulous backdrop as well.
10. Gardens by the Bay
One of my favourite places for evening to night scenery shots, Gardens by the bay comes to life at twilight, as the Supertree Grove dances to the dazzling light display of the Gardens Rhapsody. Explore the Flower Dome and Cloud Dome to be surrounded by a gorgeous landscape of flora and a giant indoor waterfall (be prepared for the draft of cold air and mist as tonnes of water flows down from the towering 35-metre man-made feature).
